WHAT IS STCC?

MAIN GOAL

To promote knowledge exchange between academia and industry, in order to strengthen the cooperation and transfer of innovations from research labs into industrial exploitation that will boost the economy for Armenia and benefit its citizens.

STCP intends to convert STCC from a single event into a continues process

The Conference is a unique opportunity to bring together representatives of science and technology infrastructures, government representatives, international donor community, and other major stakeholders to address the issues that are essential for the progress of Armenian research and technology transfer activities.

In the tech hustle of October 2019, #STCC19, organized with the support of “Support to SME Development in Armenia(EU-SMEDA) project, became a hot spot for the science and technology industry and gave a new wave to future ideas and collaboration initiatives.

 

The conference brought over 50 speakers and more than 800 participants together in one platform and facilitated discussions on:

  • Creating a roadmap towards the establishment of a robust Machine Learning Ph.D. program in Armenia

  • Involving postdocs from leading universities to Armenia and discussing avenues for potential repatriation

  • Establishing joint research labs with the collaboration of US and European universities, and local established tech companies

  • Establishing effective cooperation with European and US university labs

 

The attendees were from among:

  • Local scientific and university communities, 

  • Tech corporations, 

  • Emerging local deep-tech startups,

  • Leading research institutions (Stanford, UIUC, Tampere, etc.). 

 

The conference included:

  • 20 individual presentations given by keynote speakers 

  • 7-panel discussions

  • Two poster sessions, where emerging local deep-tech startups presented their ideas for in-depth technical discussions.
